The Sabbath Day

The Lamsa Bible says in Hebrews 4:9: It is therefore the duty of the people of God to keep the sabbath.

The King James Version reads like this: There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

If we do not keep the sabbath we cannot enter into that rest.  Jesus Christ is the Sabbath.

Independence Day… is it?

Today we celebrate our freedoms, but how many of those do we really have left? I guess that depends deeply on whose side you are on.

We are no longer free to pray in schools, praying in Jesus name is becoming more and more forbidden, even mentioning that name is not allowed, we are no longer free to post the Ten Commandments. It seems people of this country are free to do and say just about anything unless it comes from a conservative Christian. Freedom of Christian religion is slowly being stripped away from us here in the very country where freedom was established and founded on religion; Bible based religion.

The Bible is not allowed in schools and yet the Koran is welcomed. Let us not offend the Muslims and homosexuals but if offends you Christians it is because you are not tolerant, you are haters and are a threat to the ‘common good’ of all men; That my friend is a very sad state to be in. When prayer was in schools, when the Bible was in schools, when the Ten Commandments were posted in schools we did not have the crime and corruption we have today. We did not have the divorce rate we have today and children had a mother and a father and grew up to be good citizens of this country.

Malachi 3:6 says, “For I am the LORD, I change not:” so since God does not change how is it that man thinks it is okay to change God and God’s laws and commands?

Independence Day has certainly changed from what it was in the beginning; today it is more like a celebration of our independence from Almighty God. That to me is a very fearful thing, and this nation is about to find out how fearful and dreadful it can be.

It is very sad that we have become a nation that is very ‘tolerant’ of sin and intolerant of what is Godly, righteous, and holy.

I am going to post now a portion from President Obama’s recent celebration of Gay Pride month he and his wife held in the White House. If you want to know why I do this it is because I want you to WAKE UP and see where this nation is going. Look who is changing laws, look at who and what is bringing this nation down and who is ushering in the wrath and judgment of God. If you were a wise person you would get down on your face before God and repent not only of your sins but the sins of this nation. Then I would watch and pray because the coming of the LORD is very near.

Here is the article:

Obama Laments 'Worn Arguments and Old Attitudes' Holding Back Gay Liberation

By Tim Graham
July 1, 2009 - 08:37 ET

The Washington Post put the first White House celebration of Gay Pride Month on the front page Tuesday, but reporter Michael Shear left out some of the president’s most liberal and most supportive lines from the transcript. Obama pledged to be "an ally and a champion" of the gay left’s agenda and hailed gay activists "who have refused to accept anything less than full and equal citizenship."

He implied there was still work to do with all those fuddy-duddies who still followed the "worn arguments and old attitudes" from old sources like the Bible:

There are unjust laws to overturn and unfair practices to stop. And though we've made progress, there are still fellow citizens -- perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones -- who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes, who fail to see your families like their families and who would deny you the rights that most Americans take for granted. And I know this is painful. And I know it can be heartbreaking.

And yet all of you continue, leading by the force of the arguments you make, but also by the power of the example that you set in your own lives, as parents and friends, as PTA members and leaders in the community, and that's important. And I'm glad that so many LGBT families could join us today for... (APPLAUSE) ... for we know that progress depends not only on changing laws, but also changing hearts and that real, transformative change never begins in Washington.

Shear's account in the Post didn't note this was the first-ever White House Gay Pride Month event, but suggested it was an event "marking the 40th anniversary of the riots surrounding New York's Stonewall Inn." (But Shear did acknowledge that on the Post's Obama blog, 44.)

It might seem amazing -- and yet amazingly ordinary -- that Shear and the Post never found terms like "liberal" or "left-wing" worth using in the entire piece, even for radical activists and bloggers who didn't get invited to the White House because they've been too fierce.

Shear even let Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs claim that the even was "not designed as a way to mollify the gay community or reward its support during the campaign." Gibbs said: "We didn't play a lot of interest-group-based politics in the presidential race." You might even believe Obama didn't show up at interest-group events like the

When a Republican president or primary candidates court the religious right, the media constantly suggest that they're courting the extreme at the expense of the mainstream. But reporters like Shear obviously avoid the notion that there's political danger for Obama in "mollifying" his ideological base on the libertine left.

Love

How can one grow up with Love, real Love, and know not love?

Could it be that they soak it all in through the years, and eventually become a lover of themselves?

Love was meant to be shared and given to others, not to be kept to ones own self; but first, one must truly love God before this can happen. We can only love when we have His Love inside our hearts.

Let us pray and ask the Lord to replace our selfish love for His selfless love.

1 Corinthians Chapter13: (Taken from the Lamsa Bible)

¶ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love in my heart, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love in my heart, I am nothing.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love in my heart, I gain nothing.

¶ Love is long-suffering, and  kind; love does not envy; love does not make a vain display of  itself, and does not boast,

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not  provoked, thinks no evil;

Rejoices not over iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

¶ Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is imperfect shall come to an end.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

For now we see through a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these three is love.

Just a Little Thought

I was thinking about some things in my life that I knew the Lord wanted me to give up but I didn't want to give them up.  The right thing to do is to give them up, I mean if the flesh loves them so much then it needs to go. So I went and picked up my Bible and began reading from the book of Proverbs and the Lord spoke to my heart saying,
"It's in the things that are hardest to give up that you gain the most."
So with that thought I picked up the thing and gave it to God.
Proverbs 14:8
¶ The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
Proverbs 14:15
¶ The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
Proverbs 14:16
¶ A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Choices

This is something I heard from someone on the radio and not only found it very thought provoking but also very profound.

“We make our choices, and then our choices make us”

Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

When we make our choices we most likely take no more thought about it, we might however stop to consider the short term consequences. But do we really stop to think about how that choice will ultimately affect our life, both now and for eternity; and not only our life but what about the lives of others around us?

This not only goes for choices we make about what we do, but also the things we do not do. I like to think of this also in respect to God, if I obey Him it has an effect on where I will spend eternity, but when I disobey, do what I want to do, this also has an effect on where I will spend eternity. When I go my own way I only strengthen the un-Christ like nature that dwells within me. When I serve the LORD and do as He would have me to do, I strengthen the Christ within me.

We are living in very dark days and each time we fall short with God we take one more step into that darkness. God’s Spirit is departing from this earth and therefore we are not feeling the conviction we once felt. It is time to wake up and decide what we want, whether we ‘feel’ anything or not. It’s time to do what is right. You only get one chance to choose, when it’s over, it’s over.

With every choice you make you are serving one of two persons…God or The Old Serpent. You may think you are serving yourself, but who is the god of self?

Where are the choices you are making today, taking you tomorrow?

I hope this helps someone to get back on the right track.

Luke 21:34 - And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Are we making cold choices or are we becoming cold in the choices we have already made?

Dead Woman Gets Federal Stimulus Check

POSTED: 12:32 am EDT May 12, 2009
ANNE ARUNDEL, Md. -- Millions of Americans on Social Security are receiving $250 checks as part of the president's stimulus plan -- including an Anne Arundel woman who died more than 40 years ago.

The woman's son, 83-year-old James Hagner, said he got the surprise when he checked his mailbox late last week.

"It shocked me and I laughed all at the same time," Hagner said. "I don't even expect to get one for myself, and I get one for my mother from 43 years ago?"

His mother, Rose, died on Memorial Day in 1967.

Social Security representatives said there is a good explanation. Of the about 52 million checks that have been mailed out, about 10,000 of those have been sent to people who are deceased.

The agency blames the error on the strict mid-June deadline of mailing out all of the checks, which didn't leave officials much time to clean up all of their records.

Agents ask that people return the check if they receive it. Hagner said he'd like to frame it and hang it on his wall. "I just want to keep it as a souvenir. I'll never cash it," Hagner said.

Social Security officials said they aren't expecting to lose too much money to fraud. They're reminding the public that it's a federal offense to cash someone else's Social Security check.

This is the government that people trust and want running our country.  I wonder how long it takes them to get a  dead person out of their system? Do you wonder why we are so in debt, just do the math on this story. Do they really think people are going to send that money back? They aren’t expecting to lose too much money? 10,000 checks mailed to 10,000 dead people comes to $2,500,000. But to the government that is simply pocket change isn’t it. Social Security is already going broke, after reading this I don’t wonder why. If you trust the Government with your money, think again.

'CHANGE' - God's Terms or Yours?

Someone said something to me and I got to thinking about it and so I just thought I would post my thoughts on the matter.

Dependence on God; we should depend on Him for everything in our lives. It is also true that we have to trust God to change us but we have to make right choices and obey the truth we know during that time. Our willful disobedience to the truth we know and the wrong choices we willfully make tie God’s hands in our life. We have to do our part. We can’t just sit back, live life the way we want and expect God to just magically change us. Our choices for Him show Him we are willing to have Him work in us, otherwise we all could stand up on judgment day and say, “well, I never changed because God didn’t change me.” Or “I didn’t get to a certain place because God didn’t get me there.”

Now don’t get me wrong, there are things in us that only God can change, and He does, but to really become what He wants us to become there are conditions we have to meet. I remember years ago someone told me that if I would take one step forward, He would take two. I believe with my whole heart that some of the mountains in me would never have been removed if I hadn’t of made certain choices in my life, certain separations unto the Lord, and being obedient in some of the small things. We go through life and so many times ignore so much of what we do thinking it doesn’t really matter but it does. God is watching and those seemingly insignificant things matter to Him. That still small voice is what He is looking to see if we are hearing and obeying it; or if we even care about it.

Wanting God to change us is a very noble thing, especially now a days; but are we willing to make the changes in our life that He is wanting, do we just want Him to change us or do we want to change for Him? Many times I have wanted Him to change me for me but what about Him, what about my desire and love to be changed for Him? We spend so much of our time pleasing ourselves and then we wonder why our hearts are not being changed. Each day He gives us opportunities to choose for ourselves or for Him. Maybe the reason I’m not experiencing the kind of changes I want is because of what I’m choosing during the day.

So if you are out there doing things you know are displeasing to the Lord or not doing things you know you should and are just waiting for God to change you while you continue on your merry way; I hope this helps you think twice and maybe make an effort to change things in your life, then watch and see what God does for you. I’m quite sure that the changes you are looking for will begin to happen and in a much greater way.

April Fool's

This morning was the first day of a new month and so time to put up on my wall a new page from my desk calendar. It is the calendar in which I keep all my appointments and events on, it is easy to see and read so I don't miss anything. Anyway, I took March off the wall and pulled out the calendar so I could hang up April. Well, there was March. That's weird, so I looked at the one I had on my wall thinking maybe I was looking at the wrong month all of last month.  For a brief moment I thought I was going crazy; come to find out whoever put the calendar together put two months of March in there. How appropriate for April Fool's Day! Hopefully that is all the fooling I'll get today.
This day is dedicated to all the Atheists out there...they don't believe in God. The Bible says in Psalm 14:1, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God."
I have read in the news how they are now putting up billboards in Texas that say "Don't believe in God" How sad. It's one thing to feel that way but to put that up in the air is only asking for judgment to come falling down upon their heads. One day they will believe in God and they will wish they would have believed in Him when it would have counted for something, like the saving of their souls.
God is so loving that in His great thoughtfulness for even those unbelieving souls, He put a verse in His Word just for them.

This is another post that needs some updating since my awakening to all the lies perpetrated on us for so long. The reason they call it April Fool's Day is because they have the vast majority fooled into thinking that January is the New Year when in fact the New Year begins in the Spring.
